Field Activity – Learning Through Observation
As part of their EVS curriculum on “Different Occupations,” our Class IV students had the enriching experience of observing the traditional weaving process at Chittur Devangapuram.
Accompanied by their EVS teachers and class teachers, the students witnessed the intricate art of handloom weaving and learned about the dedication and skill that go into this age-old profession. The visit was specially organised on August 7, aligning with National Handloom Day — a tribute to India’s rich handloom heritage and the weavers who preserve this cultural legacy.
Adding to the spirit of Onam, our young Chinmayites extended a warm gesture by donating veshtis and mundus to nearby farmers — a small token of love and gratitude.
This hands-on experience not only deepened their understanding of various occupations but also instilled in them the value of dignity of labour — teaching them that every role in society is valuable and worthy of respect.
